Video uploader recruitment

Video uploading is not just about sourcing videos from Korean sites and torrents, you also need to know how to re-encode them to other formats. We are perfectionists about quality at WHI, so we won't settle for sub-standard encodes (which includes many of the MKV/AVI versions you'll find on Korean torrent sites).

Video uploaders must:

  • Have a fast internet connection, both download and upload. 4Mbps is the very minimum upload spead required.
  • Be able to download from Korean torrents at good speed. Most raw videos are distributed via torrent.
  • Know how (and be able) to upload to MediaFire and Rapidshare.
  • Be experienced in the use of Avisynth, MeGUI and VirtualDub to encode raw MPEG TS videos to MKV x264 and AVI XviD formats. This is essential, if you do not know what Avisynth is or how to use it please do not apply.

To apply for this role, please copy/paste and complete the form below. You must also complete a speed test of your internet connection at http://www.speedtest.net.

Please note that we will only contact candidates that we think are suitable.

Prior encoding experience: None... Not familiar with encoding but quick learner with "techie" things
Why do you think you would be suitable for this role (max 100 words): I would be suitable for this role because I have actually tried to download torrents as a performance was occurring. I do only have experience in downloading the performances such as (Music Bank/Inkigayo). Other than that, I haven't really downloaded anything. You guys seem to need most assist in this category. I learn fast with computer things so if you guys really need someone in the end for this job, please choose me. I will do my best and even though I'm on campus ground, I do hear there is a way to get past torrents.

Though I should note that, I dont get that speed at home. I get around 15mbps download and 1mbps upload.

Prior encoding experience: Yes. Not very extensive, but I've taken family videos and re-encoded them to smaller sizes. also re-encoded videos to play on my phone. Have used few programs included virtual dub and handbrake.
Why do you think you would be suitable for this role (max 100 words):
I'm a big downloader. My upload speeds not the best, but I do download a lot. Average 5-10 gb a day. I like to collect HQ videos of IU when I can find them. Around 10gb worth right now. I'm very familiar with torrents. Have been using them for over 8 years. I have a 3.4 GHZ Quad core computer, so encoding can be done fairly quickly. I'm very techy so I can learn pretty fast. I love IU like crazy! =)
My low upload speed limits me to about 450mb an hour. hopefully good enough for HQ cuts.
