WeheartIU Forum Rules
WeheartIU is a community for IU fans and we want to maintain a positive and friendly atmosphere. Below are some general rules to help achieve this, but the number one thing to remember is to always think before you post.
1) Be nice! No racism, sexism, hate or bashing is allowed.
This applies both when talking about other members, and also when discussing other kpop groups/artists or fandoms. We don't like fandom wars and we won't allow WeheartIU to get involved in any. IU is liked and respected by other kpop artists, how do you think she would feel about her fans saying bad things about her friends and colleagues?
Fortunately IU has very few anti-fans, but if any do appear on the site do not argue with them or engage them in any way. Just use the report function to alert a moderator and then ignore them.
2) No pornography or nudity.
We hope it goes without saying, but this sort of content has no place on WeheartIU. Posting anything like this is likely to result in an immediate ban.
3) No swearing, profanity, or sexually explicit content.
We have many members who are under 18 so please keep your posts family-friendly. This also applies to fanfics.
4) Post in English. Korean or Chinese are also allowed as long as you provide an English translation.
Please remember that English is the language that most members here have in common. We allow posting in Korean or Chinese (as IU has a very active Chinese fan community), but if you do this please also supply an English translation.
5) No spamming!
We don't allow any spamming, which includes all the things below:
- Off-topic posts
- Double posts
- Duplicate topics (check before posting, use the search facility)
- Copy/pasting or quoting other posts without adding anything new
- Advertising other sites
- Posts that try to artificially work around the minimum character limit
Spamming, depending on severity, will result in a warning or a post-count reduction.
6) Don't make multiple accounts.
You are only allowed one WeheartIU account. If you've forgotten your password there's a form to use to reset it. If we spot duplicate accounts, it is likely we will delete all but one (and the one we leave might not be the one you wanted).
7) No hotlinking of external images.
If you are posting images from elsewhere, make sure you have reuploaded them (e.g. at tinypic, imageshack, photobucket etc) rather than linking directly to the original site.
8) Don't post download or streaming links for official releases.
This includes all of IU's official physical albums/singles as well as digital singles and OST tracks. Neither MP3 downloads nor streaming links are allowed, nor rips of any video footage. This rule does not apply to TV or radio broadcasts of performances, or to music videos (unless the source is an official DVD or Blu-ray release).
9) Credit properly.
If you are taking content out of WeheartIU and posting elsewhere (when allowed), ensure you include full credit and link back to WeheartIU. Also when posting anything on WeheartIU taken from elsewhere, check that this is allowed by the original source, and include full credit.
10) Don't quote images or videos.
If you are quoting a post that contains images or videos, strip them out of the quote before posting. This prevents posts from becoming annoyingly long and requiring lots of scrolling.
11) Don't try to moderate if you are not a moderator.
We appreciate members trying to help us out, but if you see someone breaking the rules don't post about it, just use the report function to alert a moderator.
12) Respect moderator/administrator decisions.
It's our moderator team's job to make sure these rules are followed so that WeheartIU remains a positive, friendly and growing community and a useful resource for all IU fans. Of course there will probably be occasions when you disagree with their decisions, but you should keep that to yourself. Publicly arguing with or criticising a moderator will result in warnings. If you want to clarify a particular decision, you can ask a moderator via PM, but avoid being critical or confrontational.
13) Check sub-forums for additional rules.
The rules in this post apply across all of WeheartIU, but some sub-forums may have additional rules. Be sure to check for an announcement or pinned topic for any such rules before posting.
14) AVATAR RULES
Avatars must be no more than:
- 100x100 pixels
- 100KB
Animated gifs are allowed as long as they are within the above limits. Avatar images must be appropriate and follow the other forum rules (i.e. no nudity, profanity etc). Be sensible.
15) SIGNATURE RULES
- You are allowed to use a maximum of TWO graphics and FOUR lines of text (at size 1, TWO lines at size 2 or ONE line at size 3).
- If you only use one graphic, it must be no larger than 600x300 (width x height) and 250KB in size.
- If you use two graphics, each one must be no larger than 300x300 (width x height) and 125KB. They must be placed side by side on the same line, not on top of each other.
- No advertising or linking to other sites in your signature, except for personal social networking sites (e.g. your Twitter profile).

We hope everyone will play by the rules as they're here for everyone's benefit. However if you do break them, our moderators may impose any of the following, depending on severity and previous offences:
- Informal warning (via PM)
- Formal warning
- Temporary removal of posting rights
- Temporary ban
- Permanent ban
